Stephen provides tax compliance and advisory services to individuals and trusts, and is experienced in dealing with all levels of HMRC tax enquiry. Many of his clients are domiciled outside the UK or have other international aspects to their tax affairs, and he has 24 years’ experience in private client tax. Stephen has a particular interest in inheritance tax and the taxation of offshore trusts.
He trained as an accountant in general practice with a small London firm of chartered accountants. Before joining Rawlinson & Hunter in 2006, he spent four years working for a tax consultancy. Stephen now writes technical literature for Rawlinson & Hunter, and enjoys doing his best to explain complex legislation in clear language.
Stephen is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the Chartered Institute of Taxation and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. He sits on the ICAEW Tax Faculty private client committee. In his spare time, Stephen studies for a Mathematics degree with the Open University, and plays squash with his wife.
